So after getting 12 hours of sleep last night, I found that I was still sick this morning. I tried to ignore it. Made a breakfast of toast with PB and Pumpkin Butter along with a mug of milk, showered…and ended up back in bed. My body was just not gonna have it. I was too shaky and achy.
So I’ve found some old photos to share from my phone. By “old” I mean last week but still.
I guess some of the stuff I haven’t been sharing has been to do with me figuring out who I am. I know this isn’t about food so some of you may not care so please scroll on past to the food pictures, but this is the place I get some therapeutic sharing out there for the world to see.
Happy Monday everyone! I didn’t post a quickie last night because I knew I was gonna get up early to study, and why not use some of that time to be distracted by you lovely people.
My Sunday started off kind of awfully. Seattle got like 3 inches of snow, but that wasn’t the problem. I actually saw plows (very rare here) so I felt like I could drive. The problem was…I’d left my lights on all night so when I got in my car to head to work at 4:45am….it didn’t start! Crap! Who the hell was I gonna find this early in the morning to help me?!
Luckily my co-worker and her husband came and picked me up, and we drove down the hill, covered in eerie abandoned cars and car crashes.
We got to work though and it was a fine morning! On my breakfast break I ate Weetabix with a packet of nuts, dried fruit, and blueberries from our “Classic Oatmeal” along with a Grande orange refresher with black tea instead of water. I also ate an unpictured baggie of raw almonds and dried apricots when I was still hungry.
So I went to bed at old lady time last night, before 10pm! Due to that I was up by 7am, ready to start on my epically long to-do list. I cleaned the kitchen, did laundry, made the bed, hung up clothes, did the dishes, got packages together for mailing, and even started on some homework..
Around 9am though I finally figured out what I wanted for breakfast. Kodiak Cakes! Made super thin and drizzled with maple syrup and topped with fresh banana and toasted cashews. Super tasty.
Next up I did a lot of homework and still felt like I didn’t make a dent. =( Also…my stomach was stupid sick all morning, even before the pancakes. I felt like I kept having to head to the restroom.
Am I getting old? The excuse I just said to myself on whether I should write my post right now or tomorrow was “I’m tired and it’s after 10pm!” Yeah that’s why I decided to write. It’s only 10pm and I am young!!! Darn tootin.
Breakfast this morning was a quick bowl of Weetabix with cut up fruit (apple and an orange slice, yay free Starbucks fruit cups), sunflower seed butter, and raisins. Eaten way too fast because even though I pretty much binged on chocolate and Wheat Thins last night, my body was still hungry by morning. -_- I hate when I don’t understand my body.
I’m better!! Well…I say I am. Sure there’s a few sniffles, a few nose blowings, some coughs…but I’m better.
Breakfast was a delicious smoothie, this time with mixed frozen berries instead of banana but in all other ways the same as the last few days.
I have to say..I don’t know what’s going on but Vincent is very mad at me lately. He has destroyed TWO phone chargers in less than a week. I try so hard to hide the cords but he keeps finding them. =( Luckily a nice regular at work gave us all $10 Amazon gift cards for the holidays, so I was able to purchase another cord. I wish he’d stop being angry though. He also keeps waking me up before my alarm for no reason. He has food; he has water. He’s just mad at his mom. It’s making sleep very difficult. Any advice?
Ok guys the lack of vegetables in my day is quite surprising….but I’m leaving on Monday so I really don’t want to be wasteful! I know that’s no excuse..
It was the Winter Solstice today so I celebrated on my 10 minute break with a doppio ristretto espresso con ponna. That’s shots of espresso with whip cream on top. I used the spiced whip cream and molasses drizzle! Mmm. I also munched on some cinnamon apple chips. (I also brought those Gingerbread Molasses cookies for everyone for Solstice! I love sharing.)
