Stress Drinking & Issues

Wow, I so need to catch you all up. I’m warning you though, these past few days have been really brutal on me so if you don’t want to hear a whole bunch of crying, and perhaps, bad decisions I totally understand if you skip these next few entries. I’ve been doing some real soul-searching.



I started off Thursday morning not being hungry for breakfast. =/ I’ve learned over the past few days that in times of very high stress I loose my appetite. So for breakfast I tried 0% Trader Joe’s Greek Yogurt Pumpkin flavor. I ate the whole thing but didn’t really enjoy it all that much. I wouldn’t buy it again.

That’s the word that came to mind once I looked at all the pictures of food I’d eaten today! Let’s just say it’s probably not the best idea to only eat dessert for a meal. It makes me ravenous later. I knew this but sometimes these things happen.


Anyway I got to sleep in until almost 8am this morning! It felt so nice. Once I did get up I had something completely new for breakfast: Weetabix! That’s right. That somewhat odd British cereal that comes in the form of grain bars. I put two of them in milk and topped them with a banana and sunflower seed butter. The first bite was decent, however after the first bite all the milk rushes into the bars and they become a soggy mess. I did not like the texture! Just so…mushy. I ended up adding some dried fruit to the bowl to give it a little more chew.

Feed Me, Seymour, Feed Me!!!

I hate how studying makes me ravenous. Seriously, I feel like I need constant fueling to stay awake and processing. It’s so bad I think I’m just gonna go to bed early and study in the morning. (I have an A&P lab quiz followed by my first Biochem exam tomorrow) This may be a bad plan, I haven’t decided yet.

Today, I was a little limited on breakfast options so I made a not so traditional yogurt bowl using a cup of the new Chobani 0% Pear Greek yogurt (fabulous by the way), a serving of Granola Chips, and a torn up Chocolate Chip Cherry Torte Larabar. It tasted pretty good all together but very sweet.

=/ I can’t say my week started off kicking. I crawled out of bed completely exhausted and stuck to my guns and hit the gym for a very hard 30 minute treadmill interval run at 1.0 incline. It was rough!

Breakfast helped wake me up a little though. Cherry overnight oats topped with sunflower seed butter, toasted almonds, and golden raisins. I can’t imagine my day starting off without this cold creamy goodness.

Coming Down

Well I’m coming down with something. =( I woke up this morning with a slightly sore throat and it just got worse from there. Nausea, uncontrollable need for sleep, ect. Arg! I’m really hoping I’ll wake up tomorrow morning able to go to work and get some studying in.

I was up early today on my day off because I had an annual doctor’s appointment scheduled. Before heading there (luckily I live right across the street!), I scarfed down a bowl of Trader Joe’s Country Pumpkin Spice Granola in skim milk. Holy moly. Great granola! Love the pumpkin flavor and it has some really unique textures with it’s large puffed rice balls. I definitely recommend it.

Well this week started at a full run. No seriously, I got up and did a 30 minute treadmill interval run. ^_^ I wanted to make sure I didn’t have to worry about working out later tonight since Danae and I had big study plans.

After my lovely run, I dined on pumpkin overnight oats topped with almond butter, toasted walnuts, and craisins. Yes I am determined to pumpkin myself out before the end of the season. ~.^

I apologize for this post being a day late, but last night I ended up passing out in my book before 10pm. I feel like I ate awfully yesterday though, so I’d like to dissect my food photos and why not take you all along for the ride.

I had the opening shift at Starbucks so that meant a early morning quick breakfast of whole wheat toast with raw honey (simply amazing! If you live in Missoula please go down to the Clark Fork Market and pick up some Wustner Bros. honey! Tell them I sent you.), crunchy peanut butter, ground flax, and banana. With milk. ❤ I love this breakfast but I feel like I am falling back on big amounts of nut butters again. Delicious and holds me over but really calorie dense and high in fat.

Summer Bucket

My goodness I was tired this morning. Ophie woke me up before my 6am alarm clock demanding breakfast. I really tried to ignore her today, even did the unmotherly thing and shoved her off the bed, but she would not take no. She gets her stubbornness from her father. -_-  20120624-NOW 002

So I was up and throwing together myself a quick breakfast all so I could fit in my workout today. I had leftover whole wheat blueberry pancakes topped with peanut and almond butter and a drizzle of maple syrup. Washed down with a glass of skim milk of course! They were super tasty. Maybe finishing off this mix won’t be so hard after all. ~.^

Then I booked it to my complexes 24 hour fitness center…to find the door dead bolted…AGAIN. I was about ready to throw a rock through the window. This was the only time I had to fit in this workout and they just robbed me of it. Not to mention I would have killed to sleep in an extra hour. I will be going in to speak with the property manager personally tomorrow.

Hanging In There

I woke up this morning feeling better than I did yesterday. Body aches and headache gone but my stomach has still been on the edge all day. Let’s just say food has been going straight through me…

I still tried to start my day as healthy as possible though. Last of the Costco Greek yogurt, ground flax, fresh blueberries, golden raisins, and a big scoop of almond butter. I’m sort of glad I’m out of yogurt now though because it was getting a little bit old.
