Man I was feeling so stressed out last night I could not get to sleep. I may have gotten 5 hours max. Before I knew it I turned over saw that it was 7 minutes to 6am so I got up and headed to the pool for a really great 60 minute lap swim.
Trying to increase my available hours to get my clinical volunteer hours done at the WIC office, I’m not showering and eating breakfast at Dave’s empty house. Due to this, you’ll see a lot of simple Tupperware meals. Like today, Greek yogurt, raspberries, and a packet of Wild Friends Chocolate Coconut Peanut Butter. The peanut butter was sadly not amazing. =/ Oh well, saves me money not loving it!
Warning: a ton of SeaWorld photos are about to ensue!
First morning in San Diego = The Mission for breakfast! Thanks reader Heidi for getting me hooked on this place! ~.^ I ordered my favorite Zen Breakfast (I’m worried if I try anything else I won’t like it as much as the Zen!) which contains scrambled egg whites, the best braised tofu you’ll ever taste, brown rice, grilled zucchini & squash with tomato & onion garnish. I ate until I was full and pushed it away. This vacation was all about indulging in food but stopping when no longer hungry and I did a pretty decent job of it 4 out of 5 days.
Yummy peanut butter and jelly-esque smoothie for breakfast today! My usual smoothie base consists of:
1/2 cup milk
Giant handful of spinach
1 big spoonful of Greek yogurt
tsp lemon fish oil
Then I mix it up with different fruits, for example, a cup of frozen mixed berries today and then add some fat like a tablespoon of PB2.
Sadly I later ended up breaking my favorite Hello Kitty pint glass. =( It had a good run…I need to find more smoothie glasses now. (I also later broke one of the claps on my cross-stitch frame. It was so not my day..)
So still struggling with moving issues but I believe they are mostly resolved now. Let me just tell you I will never again sign a lease without being given the mailbox key first! It’s been such a fiasco. Hopefully the packages I expect on Monday will arrive and be left unlike the package that was returned to sender the other day. >.<
Anyway, slept in until about 9:30am when the babies would let me sleep no more! I made a delicious smoothie containing milk, Greek yogurt, spinach, frozen mango, banana, fish oil, and coconut oil. Mm mm! Ok I’m back to loving smoothies.
Oh my goodness have these last few days been a whirlwind. I'm so sorry I left you all hanging. =( Believe it or not I tried everything I could to blog but it was just not in my stars.
We won't have internet until Monday (hopefully) since our modem is so old the serial number is unreadable and therefore cannot be activated.
I diligently took photos of all my food and a lot of cute ones of the babies in all the boxes and unpacking…but my camera ate them. Seriously. They are just gone and I have no idea why. Don't get me started…I'm really ticked.
I took only a few with my phone so I'll show you them here.
The first night in the new place went a little awfully. I got about 3 hours a sleep due to Vinni screaming his head off all night long. Finally at 4am I had to get out of bed and go be with him in the living room. Eventually we (Ophie, Vinni, and I) all fell asleep crammed between boxes on the floor.
I haven't been eating that great amid the chaos that is moving (pizza, cupcakes, espresso, snacks, ect) so perhaps it's best that the evidence is lost! Now is the time to start a new and clean up my eating!! Who's with me!?
My day started off with not getting enough sleep because I just couldn’t get to bed last night. I then made another smoothie like yesterday’s (cranberry juice, Greek yogurt, frozen berries, spinach) and had it blow up in my face in the blender! >.< Ok learned my lesson. No sticking spoons in to try and push the spinach down while it’s on….Anyway after cleaning up my hair, changing my clothes, and noting that I need to scrub the ceiling…I enjoyed the smoothie with a half of a poppy seed muffin.
Meh. Today has been one of those days where I have a list of things I should be doing but I just can’t bring myself to do any of it…=/ It’s bad. I have 5 more weeks left of school and I can’t bring myself to study!!
This morning I finished of my box of Weetabix with some toasted almonds and dried apricots. I’m going to work on my hot cereal stash for awhile so I have less to move when we find a new apartment in July. Weetabix will be sadly missed!
Next I walked to work and ended up grabbing another short nonfat ristretto 1 pump vanilla, 1 pump mocha, no whip, mocha at Starbucks. I somehow forgot to take a picture though!
Ahh! It’s the start of my 3-day weekend and I.AM.EXCITED! I have no exams to study for so I should (WILL) get a lot of my end of quarter projects done with and out of the way. This quarter has been all about unloading stress where it’s needed and so that’s what I’m going to do.
My stomach completely surprised me this morning by not being starving for breakfast. I thought for sure with my lack of snackage last night that it would be growling! Still, I made myself a refreshing bowl of Quaker Oatmeal Squares with organic strawberries, toasted almonds, and raisins. You know…I’m not entirely sure I actually like Quaker Oatmeal Squares in milk. In yogurt, yes; by the handful, hell yes! But in milk they kind of are…lackluster? I guess I’m a Weetabix or popped amaranth girl after all!
