Overfed Christmas

Oh boy was this Christmas filled with a lot of food. >.<

It started with  me getting up at 8am, hungry. Sadly our plans were to eat “brunch” at my mom’s at 11…so instead of making a hearty healthy breakfast of oatmeal I ended up grabbing an Eggnog Boston Cream donut and enjoyed it with a cup of Thanksgiving Blend Starbucks coffee. It was super super delicious, but as we all know, not that filling.

Stress Drinking & Issues

Wow, I so need to catch you all up. I’m warning you though, these past few days have been really brutal on me so if you don’t want to hear a whole bunch of crying, and perhaps, bad decisions I totally understand if you skip these next few entries. I’ve been doing some real soul-searching.

I started off Thursday morning not being hungry for breakfast. =/ I’ve learned over the past few days that in times of very high stress I loose my appetite. So for breakfast I tried 0% Trader Joe’s Greek Yogurt Pumpkin flavor. I ate the whole thing but didn’t really enjoy it all that much. I wouldn’t buy it again.

Gotta Have Sushi

So yesterday was just as busy as the day before. Well…it felt like it, but no I didn’t have to get up at 4am! Phew.

Instead I got up at 6am and headed to the pool for a 60 minute lap swim. I am so going to miss these early morning swims. Sure everyday when my alarm goes off I think about not going, but once I hit the water I am so glad I’m there!

Breakfast was a bowl of an old favorite: Nature’s Path Optimum Slim cereal with Nature Box Blueberry Almonds and some fresh local gooseberries. Due to the sourness of the gooseberries this bowl feels like I’m eating candy! Each bite is “Oohh it’s sweet, crunchy, whoa sour!”.

Huckleberry Picking

Man, I really didn’t do much physical activity today but I still feel exhausted!

This morning started off with me sleeping in..but apparently all I really need is an extra half hour because I was up at 7:30 am listening to the sounds of a cow elk calling. I spent another hour or so slinking around the house reading and cross-stitching until my mom and Dave got up.

They weren’t hungry for breakfast yet so I ended up eating just a bowl of Special K with Red Berries and half a banana by myself.

Feeling Hot, Hot, Hot

So I came from the decent 70 degree weather in Seattle, to this. It is HOT (over 90!) and smoky here in Montana! In fact, the moon is even red right now!

This morning started off absolutely how I wanted it to. I snoozed my 6am alarm until 7am but still had amazingly good parking at the pool. And then I was back in the calming arms of the water for a 60 minute lap swim. My body remembered what to do but boy were my muscles crying due to the 1.5 year absence from my favorite workout!

San Diego Recap Day 4 – To the Beach

Man I have a lot of days to recap! I didn’t realize just how much I’ve done while I’ve been away!

Sunday was the wind down of the reunion. In fact, by the time we got to the house for breakfast at 11 am (okay we may have been hurting a little bit from the drinking the night before) one family had already left! =( I ate another half of a sesame seed bagel with veggie cream cheese and some orange juice to try and feel better.

San Diego Recap Day 2 – SeaWorld

Warning: a ton of SeaWorld photos are about to ensue!

First morning in San Diego = The Mission for breakfast! Thanks reader Heidi for getting me hooked on this place! ~.^ I ordered my favorite Zen Breakfast (I’m worried if I try anything else I won’t like it as much as the Zen!) which contains scrambled egg whites, the best braised tofu you’ll ever taste, brown rice, grilled zucchini & squash with tomato & onion garnish. I ate until I was full and pushed it away. This vacation was all about indulging in food but stopping when no longer hungry and I did a pretty decent job of it 4 out of 5 days.

Quarter of a Century

That’s how old I am now. -_- A new age category. Almost 30. Ok so I’m not exactly stoked that it was my birthday yesterday, but I’ll survive. ~.^

First off it started with a delicious smoothie: lettuce, milk, Greek yogurt, banana, fish oil (lemon flavored and undetectable!), and coconut oil. Mmm mm!

Then Chase drove me half way to the food bank and I walked the rest. The morning was filled with sorting donations, checking expiration dates, and organizing a ton of bread.
