Hi hi everyone. I gotta admit, yesterday turned into a rough day. Do I say this too often?
Started out great with a bowl of Chobani Blackberry Greek yogurt with raw oats, chia seeds, drippy almond butter, banana, and dried cranberries. It was nice to sit down at the table, read the news (lawl I call Facebook the news ~.^), and eat my breakfast.
Then I made a double short ghetto caramel mocha and headed to class!
I was surprised in my class with a free 8 oz bubble milk tea! My friend Andy felt like he needed to pay me back for slipping him a free Java Chip Frappuccino last night (it was a mistake). What a sweet heart! I’ll never turn down a free bubble tea.
Straight from class I headed to Costco for my monthly shopping trip! I did….ok with sticking to my list. Two splurge items…
When I got back home around noon I made a hot lunch. Two egg omelet filled sautéed orange bell pepper and onions, fresh cilantro, and cheddar cheese. Topped with a spicy jalapeno salsa. On the side, multigrain English muffins with homemade huckleberry jam! English muffins are my thing. I need to make my own…
And here’s one of my splurge items: Lemoncello Almonds! Right!? How could I turn this down? Three of my favorite things: Almonds, chocolate (okay it’s white but still), and lemon! They are super good but addicting. I immediately divided some up into 1 oz bags. I know where my issues lie.
So…today was the day that I decided to completely withdraw my Dietetic Internship application to Bastyr (the only place I applied). That means no interview, no stress, no internship, no RD, no life plan. I emailed the director and I must say it was one of the hardest emails to write. I then went to work and drank a Grande orange refresher with black tea, and wished it was wine.
When I got the response email back from the director I only got about half way through it before I started to cry. It’s hard to let go of a dream you thought was your dream for so long. But I was about to start work so I stopped reading it, held in the teas, and made people happy with coffee.
On my 10 minute break I tried to be good and half one Girl Scout cookie (success) and a banana and peanut butter but the banana was soooo green it was inedible. I ended up eating a Trio Bar instead.
Straight from work (which was rough, why can’t we all stop getting sick!!), I went to the gym and did a 30 minute bike followed by strength training with Nick. From there we headed to the Mezcal Grill for dinner! Boy was I hungry. I got a taco salad with pinto beans. I never eat the shell, but I did enjoy munching on tortilla chips with various salsas (salsa bar is brilliant). I took most of it home and went straight to bed. It hurts to get off work at 7pm and still wake up at 4am.
Also no time to mourn the life you’ve let go of. ❤ Maybe another time.
