My Furballs

I actually got a good night’s sleep last night. It felt so great to wake up to these smiling faces. Aren’t they just the cutest little bed buddies you’ve ever seen? They were just lined up next to my face like this.

For awhile a few weeks back, I felt like I didn’t need any one. That I truly had no connections or ties to keep me in place. Not even my babies. But now I’m starting to feel more like myself again and know that these are my kids. I never want to bring a child into this world, so this is it. These are the faces I put all my love and motherly care. And I cannot be parted from them.

I woke up around 7:30am and quickly downed some breakfast. Starbucks Greek yogurt with honey parfait mixed with canned pumpkin, a dab of pumpkin butter, a drizzle of almond butter, and dried cranberries.

Why eat it so quickly? Because I had a workout date with Nick at 8am! We did 33 minutes on the elliptical followed by some leg presses, squats, abs, and planks until the hour was up. Then I had to rush home to get ready for class.

My after-workout snack in class was a baggie of dried apricots and raw almonds. I sort of am in love with dried apricots. Debating buying more at Costco this weekend…

After class at noon I was able to make it home and eat lunch with the kiddies. (Haha, see what I did there?) A mozzarella, spinach, and sun dried tomato sandwich with added orange bell pepper, and a banana on the side.

Next I read up on pancreatitis and ended up taking a 30 minute nap. Bad idea. I was almost late to work and feeling super groggy! I downed a double tall iced nonfat latte without taking a photo. >.<

On my break around 5pm I had an iced tall green tea latte with one pump of raspberry syrup. It was delicious! I have a customer who orders these all the time and I just had to try it. Along with my drink I munched on a strawberry Trio bar. I love having my locker full of healthier snacks.

I wish I could say work was a blast but it got extremely intense and draining.

By the time I got home this is all I could muster for dinner. I did think about skipping dinner all together and going straight to bed but, I’m not that person. Celery sticks dipped in garlic jelly, apple slices with cheddar cheese, and a banana with peanut butter.

To wind down I’ve had one amazing square of dark chocolate with a mug of tea just like last night. This seems to be a great way to signal myself that it’s time to stop grazing.

Anyway, yay tomorrow’s Friday! I’m really looking forward to the weekend since it is Recluse Week! I have turned down so many social invitations. I am so ready just to hang out by myself and recharge.
