Meh. Today has been one of those days where I have a list of things I should be doing but I just can’t bring myself to do any of it…=/ It’s bad. I have 5 more weeks left of school and I can’t bring myself to study!!
This morning I finished of my box of Weetabix with some toasted almonds and dried apricots. I’m going to work on my hot cereal stash for awhile so I have less to move when we find a new apartment in July. Weetabix will be sadly missed!
Next I walked to work and ended up grabbing another short nonfat ristretto 1 pump vanilla, 1 pump mocha, no whip, mocha at Starbucks. I somehow forgot to take a picture though!
Ahh! It’s the start of my 3-day weekend and I.AM.EXCITED! I have no exams to study for so I should (WILL) get a lot of my end of quarter projects done with and out of the way. This quarter has been all about unloading stress where it’s needed and so that’s what I’m going to do.
My stomach completely surprised me this morning by not being starving for breakfast. I thought for sure with my lack of snackage last night that it would be growling! Still, I made myself a refreshing bowl of Quaker Oatmeal Squares with organic strawberries, toasted almonds, and raisins. You know…I’m not entirely sure I actually like Quaker Oatmeal Squares in milk. In yogurt, yes; by the handful, hell yes! But in milk they kind of are…lackluster? I guess I’m a Weetabix or popped amaranth girl after all!
Ah my neck did so much better today! It’s crazy how much your life can be interrupted when you’re in pain and unable to function like normal. Really makes you appreciate your body.
I woke up at 8am this morning refreshed and ready for my weekend! I started it with a simple bowl of Weetabix, blueberries, and toasted walnuts then got straight to work on a paper. I thought about trying to make it green for St. Patty’s but that was just too much work so I threw in a green spoon. ~.^
Not soon after finishing I hit the gym for a sweaty 60 minute hill stationary bike ride. I decided not to do strength training today since my trapezius is still sore.
Sorry this is a day late but yesterday was really rough. I feel like I tell you all that more often than not but seriously, yesterday was mean. I woke up at 5am in pain and hardly able to move. I had tried out one of Chase’s new pillows (you know the ones that have that supportive neck shape) and it had completely put my neck at an odd angle.
I put some heat on it, took some ibuprofen, cried a bit, and managed to fall back asleep for a few hours. I skipped my hospital shift because there was no way I could even lift a food tray with my right arm. My trapezius apparently got it good. Not only could I not move my head to the right but I couldn’t abduct (lift) my right arm either. Let me tell you, showering and trying to put makeup on and do my hair was a joke.
Pretty upset that this should happen to me right before finals, I made myself a bowl of Weetabix with blueberries and TJ’s Nuts About Raspberries Trek Mix. I needed chocolate this morning. Sadly, yet again my favorite trail mix has proven that it tastes best on it’s own!
I feel like my days just get busier and busier as finals come around! This morning was no exception. In fact, my alarm startled me I was so tired. I couldn’t put together why it was going off.
Breakfast before heading off to the hospital consisted of 1/2 cup of popped amaranth and one Weetabix biscuit topped with blueberries, craisins, and toasted almonds. Sadly, the Weetabix got lost amidst the amaranth. =/ It was a valid attempt at fusing my two favorite cereals together but it was not to be.
Darnit! I was hoping I'd get this post in before midnight but alas, having a social life is time consuming. No wonder I avoid it so much!
This morning started off like pretty much any morning. Had a jar of creamy and cold strawberry overnight oats topped with a spoonful of crunchy peanut butter and a sprinkle of raisins. I'm about out of Greek yogurt since I've felt kind of bored of it lately, so I really tried to enjoy every bite.
When I was a little girl my favorite things in the world to read were Archie Comics. Anyone else read those? I would constantly be checking the used book store for volumes I didn't have and even occasionally would spend all my allowance on new crisp ones that always taunted me at the checkout counters in grocery stores. I loved these comics. In fact, the very first thing I learned to read was an Archie Comic story that had two words in it: “Archie” and “Veronica”. Stupid simple yes, but because I was able to read those two words I was filled with such joy that since that day I've been an avid reader.
One of the characters in Archie Comics was a guy named Jughead. The only really memorable thing about Jughead was that he absolutely loved to eat hamburgers. Well today, all I could think about was hamburgers, just like Jughead.
Okay so I didn't wake up thinking about burgers. =P I DID wake up hungry though! I devoured a jar of strawberry overnight oats topped with almond butter, toasted almonds, and craisins. Then I headed to the hospital for my tray delivery rounds. When I got back home I already felt hungry again!! I ignored it and eventually ended up at the gym for 45 minutes of hill stationary biking. Why 15 minutes shorter than normal? Because all I could think about were hamburgers!! I was famished.
I apologize for yesterdays lame post. –_- I was soo damn tired I almost didn’t post at all. Today was much better though since it was a day off!
I didn’t get to sleep in though since I had an appointment in Bellevue to get to. Remember how I tried teeth whitening a few weeks ago? Well I decided I was unhappy with the results so I let Matt (the owner) know and he decided to give me a free treatment to help get them whiter! Since I was just gonna be sitting in the dark I didn’t shower or anything. Just toasted a slice of Breakfast Blast, smeared it with PB&J, and drank it down with skim milk.
So yesterday was all about trying to get the bride, Ashton, to relax, prepare for the wedding, and do the whole rehearsal dinner.
First off though, breakfast. I bought a box of Three Sisters Chai Spiced oatmeal just for this trip so I would always have something warm, healthy, and hearty for breakfast. The “chai” spice of it was kind of lacking so to make it more tasty I added a scoop of Earth Balance PB and a banana.
Wow. It has been an extremely busy last couple of days!! I’m sorry that I have had absolutely no time nor energy to blog, but let’s get you caught up on my vacation back to Montana!
We all were ready for vacation come Wednesday morning.
