Sometimes It’s Hard to be a Woman

Arg!! So my stomach went downhill again. Stare-Left Sometimes it’s hard to be a woman…(flashback to this)

Ok I know the song’s more about standing by your man than having to deal with a menstrual cycle but..that’s apparently how my mind works! And yes, I totally grew up owning all the Alvin and the Chipmunk albums and rocked out to them constantly. Pretty much all the cover songs they do I’ve only ever heard the Chipmunks sing. ^_^ Oh this one in particular is the only country music album I’ve ever owned!

Back to current life, I woke up around 8am and made myself some breakfast. I had the time to make a hot meal but all I really wanted was ice cold milk and peanut butter so I made PB&J&B toast with milk. Not even before I finished my meal my stomach turned and I was running to the restroom. Bleh. After breakfast, I climbed back into bed and napped. I just wanted the nausea to go away.

Bad Tummy

Oh boy. Apparently my funky allergy tummy and lady day’s tummy do not mix. I woke up this morning running to the restroom and felt so very ill that I honestly considered not going to school today. Alas, I couldn’t miss the quiz and in-class activity in my Experimental Foods class so I pushed through it all. IMG_1090

Before leaving, I thought maybe giving my stomach some good food might help it. Reheated apple and cinnamon oatmeal topped with drippy almond butter and the last pieces of Craisins. I do think it helped my stomach settle and while I didn’t feel 100% in class I survived and only had to run to the restroom once. Huzzah.

Tupperware

Hmm somehow today was slightly better than yesterday. I think it was just because I was so busy I didn’t have much time for thinking. Before I knew it this morning my alarm was going off and I was tumbling out of bed to put on my workout clothes. Strength training ensued.

When I got back to the apartment I blended up yet another PMS Smoothie. However, once it was poured into an old pizza cup, I realized there was no way this was going to keep me fueled until lunch! Hastily, I toasted a whole wheat English muffin and slathered it with almond butter and orange marmalade. Crisis averted!

I ate breakfast with the adorable holiday card of one of my new cousins, Elise! I can’t wait to meet her this coming summer along with another addition to the family, Evan. Our family has almost doubled in size with all the weddings and babies!

Where’s the Relief?

I finished my final exam today…all I have left is a cooking presentation group project tomorrow. And yet…I’m not feeling any relief. If anything, I feel even more tense. =( I don’t think it’s supposed to happen like this.

Real Food!

That’s right! My stomach was A.O.K today to eat solid food again! Whoopie!

It started with me waking up early to get in a 30 minute treadmill interval run. And wow it was hard. I had to wimp down the intervals a bit because my heart just felt like it was beating soooo fast. I felt like my body was running on empty. xx I did not like it!

No Solids Please.

So you know how I went crazy with getting to eat real food again and went right back to eating solid foods yesterday? Well boy did I regret that last night! My stomach was in soo much pain I felt like dying. I vowed to never eat again it hurt so bad! Now, of course, I didn’t keep that vow, but I did decide today would consist of less solid food.

In fact, since I didn’t have anything good at home, I ended up grabbing a Columbia Gorge Organic VitaSea with Superfoods fruit juice blend before Cultural Perspectives on Foods class. 300 calories for the full bottle and oh my word it was good! It had apples, pear, banana, mango, strawberry, peach, spiruinal, chorella, soy lecithin, Alfalfa grass, barley grass, wheat grass, sea lettuce, dulse, and kelp in it! Mmm mm. If I didn’t love my breakfast foods so much I’d drink my breakfast more often! It did however cost about $4 in our cafeteria. >.<

A Day In the Life of a Sickee…

Today has been so boring! I’ve been at home for the forth day in a row now, in bed, trying to keep my stomach flu in check. Let’s see..what have I done today?

  1. Watched Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
  2. Decided a smoothie sounded good for breakfast. A Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana one!

    • Banana
    • Chocolate Chobani
    • PB2 (powered peanut butter)

Hanging In There

I woke up this morning feeling better than I did yesterday. Body aches and headache gone but my stomach has still been on the edge all day. Let’s just say food has been going straight through me…

I still tried to start my day as healthy as possible though. Last of the Costco Greek yogurt, ground flax, fresh blueberries, golden raisins, and a big scoop of almond butter. I’m sort of glad I’m out of yogurt now though because it was getting a little bit old.

Molto Bella

This Saturday was actually not half bad. ^_^ I’m not gonna lie, I was actually excited to go to my reception job since I knew I’d actually get to sit there! My feet are killing me working at Starbucks!

Since we open at 10am I got to sleep in until 7! It felt soo good. I then got up and weight straight to the living room to do 10 minutes of my Abs Workout app. This time I concentrated on looking to the corner of the room and my neck didn’t hurt at all! I think my abs are getting tougher too.

For breakfast I made a simple bowl of frosted mini-wheats and Apple Crumble Love Crunch with flax and skim milk. It was yummy but I couldn’t taste the Apple Crumble too well. So I had a little bit more at the end. ~.^
