Wow. While I’m writing this I’m packing to go back to WA! I can’t believe how fast a month flew by.
After an intense 60 minute lap swim yesterday, I came home to half a plain bagel with peanut butter and local peach jam with a glass of milk, while I read the paper on quinoa being grown in MT! Crazy. It’ll be very interesting if it works.
Well I figured instead of waiting to return Sunday night and be totally stressed out writing a recap of my weekend, I’d write it while I’m on it and insert the pictures later! So the words you are reading are happening in real time…you’re just getting them late. ^^
Anyway this morning was a little bit of a bummer. I got to the pool around 7:25am only to find out that they were kicking us out at 8am due to an all day staff training session. >.< Darn it, I shouldn’t have ignored the signs posted all week. Anyway, I swam my heart out for 35 minutes and then headed home. Doing a shorter workout than planned is always a let down, but it really forced me to power through it all.
Once home I made another toasted English muffin with creamy natural peanut butter, local peach jam, and half a banana. Okay so the banana didn’t add anything to the amazing peach but I needed to use it up! Washed down with a glass of 1% milk. I’m wondering if I can get Chase to drop to 1%…I’m kind of preferring it.
Man I have so much to share with you all today! ^_^
First off this is my latest bed buddy. =) Drusilla has been sleeping with me every night since I arrived. She just purrs and purrs until we fall asleep and then she wakes up with my swim alarm, crying her head off, probably saying “Where the hell are you going so early!?” I feel bad that I’ll be leaving her in mid-September. =(
Sadly, I’m gonna have to say this has been the worst Winter Solstice ever. =/ I thought this old picture (I think I’m 2-3 years old) summed up how I felt.
Yeah. Not great. It started with me wanting to go get in a workout but finding the whole right side of my body (especially my butt) were super sore and stiff. It hurt to walk. It felt like I’d fallen hard on that side…but I don’t remember doing that at all! Anyway, getting in a good sweat was out.
So people who know my sleep schedule may not believe this but..I love sleep. Seriously! I especially love it when I can get more than 6 hours. <3 And last night I did!
Once I finally got up (after hurling the baby from the bed many times…I don’t know what her new problem is. There is food in her bowl and she still pesters me!), I was hungry for breakfast. I bet you are all getting tired of seeing overnight oats but they are seriously my favorite thing. These were overnight oats with a cut-up pluot mixed in and topped with sunflower seed butter, dried cherries, and toasted walnuts.
I just wanted to start this post off with saying happy birthday to my favorite little cousin, Raiden, who turned one year old today! He’s had a very rough first year being born three months early and with a twin sister who did not survive.
Check out how cute this little guy is though. I can’t wait to see him tomorrow!
Most of my shopping consisted of little trinkets and key chains that would make great gifts to people back home. This cute Hello Kitty Doughnut cellphone charm was given to my best friend, Ashton! I really hope she uses it because I wish I’d bought one for myself now!
When most people think of Japanese food they think of sushi. And by gods I wish that that was the majority of what Japanese people ate! I’d have loved sushi. I was only offered it once my entire three months there however. Most of the sushi that I did get to enjoy was bought at the grocery story of convenience store pre-packaged but made fresh that day.
