So my appetite actually showed it’s face today!
Not in the morning…but I still made myself eat this breakfast of Quaker Oatmeal Squares, fresh strawberries, and toasted almonds.

I haven’t shown you all my hamster Boo-Boo in a long time! She’s kind of hard to photograph because even though she is the calmest hamster I’ve ever had she still moves a lot. She’s also the biggest hamster I’ve ever had! She’s seriously about the size of my Samsung Galaxy S2 phone!
Boo-Boo is the cutest thing. She loves to have her back scratched and when she gets it she stands rigid and points her tail and doesn’t want you to stop!
Okay enough motherly gloating…
Meh. Today has been one of those days where I have a list of things I should be doing but I just can’t bring myself to do any of it…=/ It’s bad. I have 5 more weeks left of school and I can’t bring myself to study!!
This morning I finished of my box of Weetabix with some toasted almonds and dried apricots. I’m going to work on my hot cereal stash for awhile so I have less to move when we find a new apartment in July. Weetabix will be sadly missed!
Next I walked to work and ended up grabbing another short nonfat ristretto 1 pump vanilla, 1 pump mocha, no whip, mocha at Starbucks. I somehow forgot to take a picture though!
Thanks to all the readers who have entered Blueberries and Oats 2 year anniversary giveaway! If you haven’t entered already, don’t forget to do so! I’ve really enjoyed hearing what you guys like about this blog.
Though I really wanted to sleep in today I was up with my alarm before 9am. Joan (my car) had an appointment for an oil change! I felt extremely shaky when I woke up so I didn’t even take a second thought when I threw together this somewhat odd breakfast of Weetabix and trail mix. Yeah…M&M’s in my cereal was a bit different.
Arg! My throat’s been sore and gunky all day. -_- As odd as it may sound, I’m hoping it’s just allergies and not me coming down with something. Sorry to say but I had a pretty boring day. Then again, I don’t think I’ve ever riveted any of you with my life so why start now. ~.^
The first thing I did this morning was rush to my computer to submit my add classes form for next year. I tried to add a cooking class but it turned out to be in conflict (by a mere 50 min! Pfft!) with a class I have to take so it was a no. I did however get into the Intuitive Eating and other Philosophies class! I’m soo excited to take it even though I already know the stuff. I feel like I can’t hear the ideas enough.
Then it was business as usually: shower, dress, breakfast! Again, Weetabix, banana, toasted almonds, craisins. My throat really really enjoyed this. I’m out of fresh fruit to put on my cereal though and have no toasted nuts so I may just surprise you all tomorrow by having something different. =P
Yay another Monday over with. I am just counting down the weeks until school is out. I’m so ready to be done and have a break from all this go-go-go!
Breakfast was Weetabix, banana, raisins, and toasted almonds. Man I love Weetabix. Seriously, this company needs to make it’s American presence known better! It’s totally a hidden gem.
Hope everyone had a great Mother’s Day! I was happy to get to chat with my mum on the phone this morning but it made me want to visit even more! <3 This photo was taken when I was 5 years old with my late Aunt Jo, my mum, and my sister. Aren’t we just the cutest things in our hats and boots!
So my new allergy pills have the side effect of “loss of appetite” which sounds like a good thing right? Well..I’m having issues with it now.
Breakfast for example was a hodge podge of things instead of my usual big hearty meal. I finally got to try a Chobani Flip in Key Lime Crumble flavor, along with a hard boiled egg and an orange. The Flip was tasty and Vinni approved, but a little too sweet. Something decent for when you’re really in the mood for a treat.
After this small breakfast, I hit the gym for a sweaty 60 minute hill stationary bike. I was going to go 30 more minutes to make up for taking Monday off but honestly my body screamed no.
Ahh! It’s the start of my 3-day weekend and I.AM.EXCITED! I have no exams to study for so I should (WILL) get a lot of my end of quarter projects done with and out of the way. This quarter has been all about unloading stress where it’s needed and so that’s what I’m going to do.
My stomach completely surprised me this morning by not being starving for breakfast. I thought for sure with my lack of snackage last night that it would be growling! Still, I made myself a refreshing bowl of Quaker Oatmeal Squares with organic strawberries, toasted almonds, and raisins. You know…I’m not entirely sure I actually like Quaker Oatmeal Squares in milk. In yogurt, yes; by the handful, hell yes! But in milk they kind of are…lackluster? I guess I’m a Weetabix or popped amaranth girl after all!
As you all know I’ve been struggling with allergies this year. Nothing bums me out more than having to admit I have them again. One free year with no allergies was just so nice, I’m sad to see it go.
After my long sleep, I awoke ready for the day. I had a nice cold throat-soothing bowl of (again) Weetabix, fresh organic strawberries, toasted walnuts, and raisins. I swear I’m going to get tired of cereal eventually. =P But for now, I’m completely enjoying what for me used to be a “treat”. I didn’t grow up eating cereal, in fact, my mother used to give us a box of cereal for Xmas! That’s how special it was. Due to cereal-less life, I used to be unable to control myself around it AT ALL. Bowl after bowl of cereal would be devoured until I was ill. Now, I know I can always have another bowl tomorrow. ^_^ It makes me so deeply happy that I can do this.
