We made it safely back to the Seattle area about an hour ago. It was a long day and we’re glad it’s over! It also feels nice to be back home.
The day started nice and early with us packing up the car and realizing we didn’t have everything we needed to take my bike on our new bike rack. >.< Stupid girl bikes with their curved bar. Deciding we’d get it when we come back in August, we hit up Paul’s Pancake Parlor for breakfast.
I started off with a cup of joe with cream and honey. I’m really working on drinking it through a straw since I noticed my teeth are getting a bad coffee stain! (On the lookout for teeth whitening. Do you use a kit or pay a professional?)
For breakfast I went with exactly what I felt like: one caramel pecan pancake and two sunny side up eggs. Nom nom. I doused the pancake in boysenberry syrup (my favorite) and made myself eat every bite since I knew we would be driving like crazy today. Note to self: you don’t really care for pancakes in restaurants.
After breakfast and a few errands (whoops – our car registration expired!!), we were ready to hit the road in the scorching heat.
Vinni took the stifling hot air like a man.
Ophie, however, attempted to shove her head in the cooler and cried like a baby. >.< Eventually with a cigarette outlet fan and a little AC, we cooled them off while they hid from the sun under the seats.
About 4 hours after breakfast I started to be hungry again. >.< It’s like clockwork. I appeased the tummy monster with a snack of a Almond & Coconut mini KIND bar and some fresh strawberries. Man I love fresh fruit. I need to buy more of it.
Almost half way home we decided real food was in order. At first all I wanted was ice cold ice cream but Chase made me realize that some healthy food would be good. =P So Subway it was! I got a 6” Ultimate Veggie (spinach and avocado) on whole wheat, a Tazo Giant Peach tea and probably a million handfuls of Hawaiian Sweet Maui Onions (over the course of the rest of the drive).
We could tell we were close to home when: The dark clouds rolled in and blotted out the scorching sun. Perfect. Just what we wanted!
For dinner I had a small bowl of vanilla ice cream drizzled with dark chocolate melted with coconut oil, a sprinkle of walnuts, and a pinch of dried cherries. I did take a photo but it was taken so quickly it hurt my eyes to look at. Yeah it was my last vacation meal. ~.^
Anyway back to normal life!
P.s. I will be catching up on my emails soon!
I whiten my teeth using trays that my dentist made for me. I get good results but the down side is my teeth totally get sensitive from the bleach solution.. Ahhh vanity
Glad your home safe!
Haha thanks Heidi! I think I’m gonna go the professional way too. The stains are bugging me so bad I smile differently!! Glad to be home too, just wish I had a day off now to relax!
