I learned something about myself today.
A protein heavy breakfast of two eggs scrambled with spinach, onions, and sundried tomatoes, plus two strips of “bacon” and some fresh raspberries does not hold me over very long. Apparently I need to start my day off with a carbohydrate heavy meal otherwise I’m hungry very very quickly.
Good thing to know.
I ended up so hungry that around 11am I ended up having a treat of skim milk and two earl grey lemon shortbread cookies. >.<
After my cookie splurge, I hit the gym for an hour of stationary hill biking. I couldn’t believe I’d had cookies in the AM!
Due to this cookie snack, my lunch was all over the place. I didn’t start eating until 1:30pm..and by then I was soo hungry nothing sounded good. I started with a peach. A half hour later a Chocolate Vanilla Chobani Champion. And then around 3pm I finally needed something more substantial so I reheated the last of my risotto and topped it with some sautéed zucchini.
An hour or so later I needed a sweet ending so I ended up binging on Reese’s Puffs. I wish I’d stuck to this tiny glass but I ended up pouring myself an unpictured bowl as well. =/
Around 7pm Chase and I ended up getting Pen Thai takeout. My favorite tofu pad sew yew on top of steamed green beans. This is seriously amazing but I purposefully kept my portion small.
I feel like my eating was off all day today and I can’t help but blame it on my breakfast choice. I never realized how important getting in my morning whole grains is to keeping me satisfied and spacing my meals properly. Protein just doesn’t do it for me.
What do you eat for breakfast?
