Well I tried to lead a normal life today.
Woke up and had a simple breakfast. Costco whole wheat toast smothered with crunchy peanut butter, ground flax, and orange marmalade on one, strawberry preserves on the other. Washed down with 1.5 glasses of skim milk. My stomach seemed to handle it fine.
The first sign that I wasn’t doing well should have been that I couldn’t seem to cool off after my shower. This happens a lot to me but normally only after a workout. I ignored it though and walked leisurely to my bus stop. This simple slow walk made me sweat. Sign #2.
Then I got to work, clocked in for an hour, and then was sent home by the doctor since I clearly had a fever. >.< Damnit! This stomach flu is the worst! Chase says I have to just seriously take it easy and rest but it’s hard to when I’m scheduled to work everyday!
I went back home and climbed into bed, watched Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, and fell asleep for a few hours.
Around 1pm I had no appetite but I made myself drink some orange juice and eat some pretzel thins. Dipping them in a little peanut butter helps. ^_^ Then I was back to sleep until 5pm.
Again, no appetite but dinners seem to be easier for my stomach to handle. I made the same dinner as last night but used green beans in place of kale. Also topped it with some fresh basil from my own “garden”! Delicious.
While my stomach was feeling good and my mind was hooked on dessert, I decided to have a bowl of Reese’s Puffs with skim milk and the last of my blueberries. I know I normally wouldn’t eat junk like this but we honestly have nothing else in the dessert carb category! I’m seriously considering caving and buying some flour.
I have a 4 hour shift at Starbucks tomorrow and I’m not sure if I should go. From what I’ve read (WebMD) stomach flu can be highly contagious and I would just feel awful if I passed this on to a customer. Of course, my manager doesn’t seem to care so I’ll probably be forced to go anyway. =/ Hopefully the coffee/steamed milk smells won’t make me as sick as they did on Thursday.
Anyway stay tuned for tomorrow’s morning post, I promise you it’ll be worth your time! ~.^
To buy flour and bake or not to?
Bake! It will make you feel better
Thanks Heidi! I’ve been debating this for awhile. Very much appreciate your support ~.^
Try buying dif kinds of flour. I especially like tapioca & garbanzo flour! Hope you’re much better.
That’s a great idea! Ill be working on Tuesdays at our Bellevue office which is right next to a Whole Foods! I’ll have an hour after I get off work until Chase gets off so I’m sure I can browse through there often. I hear they have great bulk bins to try different flours and such.
I’m not better but I am definitely not getting worse.
