One big event that we attended while in Japan was a dog show! During the “talent” aspect of it there were a lot of neat tricks and even funny little skits. Of course I didn’t understand all of it but this couple dressed up their dogs in famous movie attire like Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and Star Wars! Really freaking cute.
I’m so glad I gave my body some rest yesterday and soaked it instead because I felt 77% better when I woke up at the crack of dawn this morning. Less old-lady-like.
Plus I woke up hungry! I love that feeling. Means I didn’t get snacky the night before. ^_^ I heated up a bowl of strawberry oats and added some light whipped cream cheese and a tad maple syrup, then topped it with almond butter, toasted almonds, and golden raisins. Mmm. Cream cheese may not be my favorite thing but this bowl was enjoyable.
Work went pleasantly well and I even had a regular customer ask if I’d worked at a Starbucks before coming here because I picked it all up so quickly! (proud!) I love being on bar and learning the drinks. I’m counting on eventually moving to a real Starbucks store someday. On my break I kept it simple with water and a baggie of TJ’s Nuts About Raspberries Trek Mix.
This mix held me over well and I was able to walk all the way back home, get in my 45 minute stationary hill bike ride, shower, and do a wee bit of studying before I needed lunch. Ah the power of nuts!
I debated on whether to have a light lunch or the food I was craving, leftover Thai food. I decided that eating a big hearty, satisfying lunch would probably do the best job of stopping me from mindlessly snacking while I got my big study on.
And study I did! Vinni found it all extremely boring. We covered: diversity of prokaryotes, disease, etiology, and immunology. I’m really pushing hard to keep caring. My last hurrah before getting to learn information I actually care about! (nutrition)
Knowing I was going to get extremely tired midday, I picked up this Starbucks DoubleShot Energy Vanilla Light at Safeway. Verdict: Bleh. Too artificial and thick. I just drank the glass shown and put the rest in the fridge. I’ll drink it when I’m desperate….
While I went over my notes over and over again, I also redid my nails! This “Hazard” is such a fun summer color. ^_^ I also think I’m getting better at painting if I do say so myself.
Eventually, a snack was in order mainly to keep me going and awake. A slice of whole wheat toast covered in crunchy peanut butter and orange marmalade with a glass of skim milk. <3 Sadly I have to say the orange marmalade tasted funky with this peanut butter….very odd. It’s the TJ’s one =/
Finally, around 8pm I stopped studying for a bit for some dinnertime with Chase. I made a big massaged kale salad topped with golden raisins (have I mentioned how much I love these?), toasted almonds, and pepper. For my main course I had a double veggie dog. That’s right I found the answer to too much bread with two hot dogs and too few calories with one! I put two dogs into one toasted bun with cheddar cheese and topped with ketchup and red onion. Perfect! Also enjoyed with my last glass of chardonnay.
Now I think I’m going to go through my notes one more time before I try to relax. Luckily I have until 1pm tomorrow to study as well! The final push!!
