=/ Since last night I’ve had a somewhat light sensitive headache. It got so bad while I was trying to go to bed that I had to heat up my bed-buddy and put it on the back of my head. It even made my vision blurry! When I woke up this morning I thought it was gone…
I ate a delicious breakfast of Greek yogurt, Bob’s Red Mill Old Country Style Muesli (blend of rolled oats, wheat, rye, triticale, barley, almonds, date crumbles, raisins, sunflower seeds, and walnuts), fruit preserves, dried cherries, ground flax, and a drizzle of almond butter. I love yogurt!
I then stuck to my workout schedule and hit the gym for my strength training day. I walked on a 10% incline for 10 minutes to warm up then hit the machines increasing my weights by 10 lbs on most of them. It felt good on my muscles but my head started to pound and pound and pound.
I chugged tons of water but it would not go away. Feeling less than stellar I headed to my receptionist job. It was a seriously beautiful and sunny day out but I wanted no part of it. I must have looked like I had a hangover with my sun glasses on shying away from the bright light.
While at work I endured the pain and eventually it subsided. Around 2pm though I was shocked to find I had no appetite. I tried to eat the lunch I packed (leftover Mexican on top of butter lettuce, tortilla, and and apple) but I just couldn’t. I did end up eating my small apple though I didn’t really feel like it.
My co-worker kindly let me off early since she knew how off I was feeling. I had plans to stop into the local coffee shop next door and get a treat. Yeah there is no more Cookie Friday for me but Sweet Treat Saturday! (It just works better with my schedule.) Knowing I needed more sustenance, I decided to still with my plan.
The coffee shop, Urban Coffee Lounge, was cute, had great lighting, and had delectable looking treats. Problem was was that I didn’t feel like anything! I let the clerk convince me to try a lemon shortbread cookie dipped in white chocolate and a glass of skim milk. It was delicious and I loved the texture. Mmm milk and cookie to make me feel better.
Once I got off the bus at home I was feeling worse. =/ All my energy was sapped and I just wanted to crawl into bed and drift into a vegetative state. However, I tried to do some microbiology studying, Harry Potter reading, and even tried to watch Cake Boss. I eventually snacked on a perfectly ripe banana with my all time favorite peanut butter. No more trans fatty Skippy for me! Archer Farms (Target brand) has the perfect Crunchy Peanut Butter that tastes better than Skippy and is all natural. I love it!
After eating I fell asleep for an hour.
When Chase got home for dinner I still felt no hunger. I couldn’t figure out what I wanted. I tried having this tiny cup of Safeway brand frosted mini-wheats with the splash of skim milk I had left. Yummy but clearly not dinner material.
I dug through my cupboard and put together a plan. Eating Right Veggie Pasta which has a full serving of vegetables in it(!) and Trader Joe’s Freshly Shaved Parmesan, Romano, & Asiago Cheese were the stars. For the record, this is my all time favorite sprinkle cheese. The blend goes so well together and has large shavings!
While dinner cooked Chase and I went out and threw the last slice of bread at some ducks. <3 I see these guys every morning on my way to the gym and can only chuckle that my dad can’t shoot them. Yes, I have woken up back in Montana to my dad being so thrilled that he shot a Canadian goose in our backyard! -_-
After our rendezvous with nature dinner was ready. Veggie pasta topped with frozen green beans, roasted Brussels sprouts, and Meatless Meatballs in Hunt’s Four Cheese Tomato Sauce. It was really delicious but I can’t say I noticed a difference hunger wise. I’m just not feeling it.
At least my headache has not come back since this morning but I am worried that I am coming down with something. I really hope I’m feeling better tomorrow! I’m going to try and be good now and finish my microbiology reading.
Have a good night everyone!
