Hmph. I feel like I’ve been grazing on food all day. >.< I just never felt full! In fact, I felt empty! I blame the lousy sleep I got last night. My itchy bug bites woke me up at 1am, scratching. This may not sound too bad but when you gotta get up at 4am it’s killer.
It was definitely a coffee day. I started off with some delicious overnight oats though.
- 1/3 cup raw oats
- 1/3 cup skim milk
- 1/3 cup Greek yogurt
- 1/2 tbsp Chia
- handful of frozen blueberries
Put in the fridge overnight and it gels together to make a wonderful creamy cold concoction. I topped it with almond butter, honey, craisins, and toasted almonds. In the past, I haven’t really enjoyed overnight oats but I think I just wasn’t adding the right toppings. I need the different textures. I foresee me doing this more in the hot summer months! However, I was a bit chilly on my 1.5 mile walk to work. >.<
I kept waking up last night due to some rude spider biting in me in my sleep! I now have two bites on my left leg and they are big and itchy. -_- I hate bug bites!
At least it wasn’t as bad as when this happened. When I was 5 years old we went camping and I woke up with three huge mosquitoe bites around my eyes! They almost swelled shut. >.< My dad kept telling me I looked like a Chinese prize fighter.
When I won this giveaway for Nature’s Path Love Crunch put on by Alive Magazine I was ecstatic. I’d only ever tried the Love Crunch Dark Chocolate and Red Berries once and had been looking for the three other new flavors ever since I heard about them back in January(?). Problem was I couldn’t find them anywhere!
When they arrived (very quickly after winning I might add), I couldn’t wait to get them out of the box.
The original Love Crunch, Dark Chocolate and Red Berries, plus the other flavors: Carrot Cake, Apple Crumble, and Aloha Blend. All for me. For the record I did offer to share with Chase, but he wasn’t interested! His loss.
So how were the flavors? Was this granola amazing? Here are my thoughts!
It makes such a difference having one whole day off from everything. No school. No work. Hell I even didn’t even touch my homework today! And it felt great.
I woke up around 7am after crashing in bed last night around 9pm! It was the perfect amount of sleep. I hit the kitchen next and made myself a big bowl of cereal: 1/4 cup museli (the very last, can’t decide if I quite liked this stuff or not) and 1/2 cup Carrot Cake Love Crunch. With ground flax and milk of course. Mmmm why is cereal so freaking good?
I feel like I’ve just been hungry and eating all day. >.< Starting my day at 4am really seems to throw off my eating schedule.
The morning started off right with a big bowl of Greek yogurt topped with flax, museli, raspberry jam, and Cookie Butter. Loved every bite. ^_^
You know I’m starting to love my Wednesday’s. They start off with me getting to sleep in until Chase gets up to go to work (8am!). Then I get to lounge in bed checking my email and playing my little smartphone games and whatnot.
When Chase leaves for work I sluggishly get out of bed and throw together breakfast. I can make anything! I have the time! Of course, today I just went with a simple bowl of Greek yogurt, Apple Crumble Love Crunch, chopped up Granny Smith, ground flax, and almond butter drizzle. Mmm mm.
Sadly I still prefer Love Crunch with milk over yogurt but I need so much more to fill me up then. >.<
I think this whole 4 am thing is getting easier for me. ^_^
I popped right out of bed this morning, got ready, and ate my breakfast of a whole cup of Aloha Love Crunch and skim milk. I seriously hate how calorie dense this stuff is because you never feel like you have enough of it! Arg!
For the amount of calories it was, it sure didn’t fuel me for very long. -_- Just the 1.5 mile walk to work and about 4 hours of work.
Today was a bit disappointing. I had big plans to do something I love and haven’t done since the new year began: donate blood.
I made sure to have a big filling breakfast of blueberry oats topped with almond butter and toasted almond slivers. I started having a cup of coffee with it but switched to water half way through since it helps to be super hydrated for blood donation.
Next I got my butt to the gym for a 30 minute treadmill interval workout @ 1.0% incline since I knew I wouldn’t be able to tonight with all the blood loss.
So before I went to sleep last night I knew I had to be up at 4am for my very first opening Starbucks shift all by myself. That knowledge didn’t make doing it feel any better though. >.< Sooo early.
I had a simple bowl of the last of the frosted mini-wheats sprinkled with craisins and skim milk for breakfast. This cereal was alright but I don’t see myself buying it again. You just can’t do much with it! I like cereals I can really add different elements too. (Like my new bowl? Yay Crate and Barrel!)
This Saturday was actually not half bad. ^_^ I’m not gonna lie, I was actually excited to go to my reception job since I knew I’d actually get to sit there! My feet are killing me working at Starbucks!
Since we open at 10am I got to sleep in until 7! It felt soo good. I then got up and weight straight to the living room to do 10 minutes of my Abs Workout app. This time I concentrated on looking to the corner of the room and my neck didn’t hurt at all! I think my abs are getting tougher too.
For breakfast I made a simple bowl of frosted mini-wheats and Apple Crumble Love Crunch with flax and skim milk. It was yummy but I couldn’t taste the Apple Crumble too well. So I had a little bit more at the end. ~.^
I’m ready to write a review of the Love Crunch’s!
