Today was one of those days where I realized that I have to change. I’m one of those people who follows a strict schedule and if something doesn’t work with my schedule I throw it out. For example, if I don’t have a ton of time to get a workout in (over an hour), I convince myself that it’s not possible for me to fit it in even though it only takes 30 minutes. I guess it’s pretty much another all-or-nothing mentality.
So my new goal? To be more flexible! I don’t need such time cushions between activates! I can be one of those go-go-go people.

Today I woke up at 8:30am to a text from my office manager at the optometry telling me they needed me at 11am today. That meant I only had 1.5 hours to cook and eat breakfast, let my food settle, workout, shower, look professional and pack my lunch before I needed to be out the door to walk the 2 miles to work. This sort of time pressure almost convinced me I couldn’t workout, but instead I ignored that control-freak part of me and fit it all in. No I couldn’t wait my usual half hour between eating and working out, no I didn’t have time to cool-down so I’m sure all my makeup washed off my face before I got there, but you know what, I survived and fit everything in.
