Cheesecake Factory Fail

Oh boy yesterday was long and ended on a not so good note. It started off wonderfully though!

A nice hot bowl of blueberry 10 Grain cereal (the very last of it!) with a scoop of White Chocolate Wonderful and some dried cherries. I am loving this hot cereal kick though I am missing dairy dreadfully. Soo close to next month though I can taste it.

I had plans to workout out but Chase convinced me with all the walking we’d be dong at the Emerald City Comicon I deserved the rest. Ooohh kay.

The Hunger Games

My morning started off as usual though perhaps a little bit more chipper knowing it was my “Friday” (yay for no class on Fridays!). I made a delicious bowl of plain oats (+ 1tbsp 10 Grain Cereal and flax) topped with almond butter, dried cherries, and unsweetened coconut. Mmmm! I ended up adding more cherries because I love their chewiness.

I stuck with my workout plan and headed to the gym for a 45 minute Hill bike ride. I sweated buckets and that always makes me feel good. ^_^

Wednesday of Few Words

Regular Day

Ah I love it when the day goes exactly as planned. No 1.5 hour bus rides for this girl! Just one regular day.

I rolled out of bed at 8am (I’m trying to get my body used to waking up earlier and earlier since I’ll probably work the morning shift as a Starbucks barista. Opening: 5am!) and made myself a big hot bowl of plain oatmeal plus 1 tbsp 10 grain hot cereal and flax. Topped with fruit preserves, almond butter, and dried cherries. Adding the tablespoon of hot cereal made the oats really fluffy and creamy. I used to do this all the time and need to start doing it again!

Workout: 45 minutes stationary biking on the Hill setting. Nice and sweaty. <3 Slowly bringing back up my biking time too.

Sunny Sunday

Ahh! I love Sundays. No work. No school. No worries. ^_^ I always have my alarm turned off on Sundays. Today though I surprised myself by waking up exactly at 8:30am anyway. Hunger always wins.

I kept breakfast simple today. Plain oats with ground flax and topped with fruit preserves, PB & Co’s White Chocolate Wonderful and dried cherries. It was PB&J in a bowl! I loved it. Oatmeal will always be my favorite food.

Flexible

Today was one of those days where I realized that I have to change. I’m one of those people who follows a strict schedule and if something doesn’t work with my schedule I throw it out. For example, if I don’t have a ton of time to get a workout in (over an hour), I convince myself that it’s not possible for me to fit it in even though it only takes 30 minutes. I guess it’s pretty much another all-or-nothing mentality.

So my new goal? To be more flexible! I don’t need such time cushions between activates! I can be one of those go-go-go people.

Today I woke up at 8:30am to a text from my office manager at the optometry telling me they needed me at 11am today. That meant I only had 1.5 hours to cook and eat breakfast, let my food settle, workout, shower, look professional and pack my lunch before I needed to be out the door to walk the 2 miles to work. This sort of time pressure almost convinced me I couldn’t workout, but instead I ignored that control-freak part of me and fit it all in. No I couldn’t wait my usual half hour between eating and working out, no I didn’t have time to cool-down so I’m sure all my makeup washed off my face before I got there, but you know what, I survived and fit everything in.

Knocked Out

Today was pretty much my Saturday since I finally had a day off from both jobs and I work tomorrow. I embraced this and did absolutely nothing.

I still got up with my alarm at 8:30 and had the very last leftover pancake with light whipped butter and maple syrup. As good as these were, I’m totally ready to have something else for breakfast now!

Odd Craving

Again, it is not even 10am and I am wishing I was turning off the lights and crawling into bed. I have just been soo very tired lately. I will try to stay awake a bit longer to come up with something witty to say. No promises. ~.^

Breakfast was, again, delicious. I’m so glad I have so many leftover pancakes to eat. ^_^ Seriously, huge time savers and so filling! Did I mention they also taste like cake heaven? And I don’t even like cake!

Leftovers

Sorry for the late post but once I got home from work last night at 7pm, I was completely spent. I love working, but I feel like it’s been nonstop go since last Saturday. >.< I need a day off to mentally prepare myself for the spring quarter to start!

Yesterday morning I started off with another one of these Red, White, & Blue pancakes from The Brown Bag Café. Yep, I’m gonna keep eating them until they’re gone! Topped with some light whipped butter and coffee/sugar/chocolate grounds. Washed down with a nice glass of skim milk. These pancakes rock! Am I getting pancaked out? Probably. But hey, you can’t beat the easiness and thriftiness of leftovers!
